Weed Vine Workshop

17.03.18  Our weed vine workshop drew the crowds yesterday. It was so very heartening that 43 people joined us to learn about weed vines and their control. Participants enjoyed some focused information sharing in the Verandah Room and then we walked to investigate a Madeira vine infestation to see the dreaded vine and its aerial tubers and carpet of seedlings up close. Thanks to Matt Bateman for leading us through the challenges involved in this work and the success of the Upper Mary Valley Weed Vine Project. We are about to submit our next funding application to the National Landcare Program. We wish that we could attract long-term funding for this long-term strategic and environmentally critical project. Weed vines are one of the most significant threats to our biodiversity in this region.
